Our Trip to Hacketts Orchard

The class had an outstanding time at Hacketts Orchard in South Hero today.  We took the bus out after lunch and were greeted by our leader, Deb, who is the daughter of the owner.  While at the orchard, we learned a lot about how apples grow.  Each student was able to pick three to take home.  We got to see the apple bags that pickers use, and the machine that washes and sorts the apples, and we all enjoyed a wagon ride on a wagon pulled by Mr. Hackett.  Then we played on the playground until it was time to head back to school.  Thank you so much to Hacketts Orchard, to the PTO who provided the bus, and to the many volunteers who came along with us today.  A great time was had by all!
